I have in Despatch No. 401 of this date

submitted for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure

Ordinance No. 13 of 1903 entitled 'An Ordinance to amend

Ordinance No. 18 of 1900 entitled An Ordinance to facilitate

the hearing, determination, and settlement of land claims in

the New Territories, to establish a Land Court, and for other

purnaces.

In my Despatch No. 389 of the 17th. of

June I informed you that in two cases in which claims to land

involving large areas of foreshore in New Kowloon had been

allowed by the Land Court, I had decided that it was inexpedient

in the public interests of the Colony to grant titles and had

referred the claims back to the Land Court to assess compensa-

tion.

As soon as the Chinese title deeds upon

Clementi, Assistant Registrar-General, who besides examining
